Chandler Anderson Nelson, Sr.

MR. CHANDLER ANDERSON NELSON, SR. Mr. Chandler Anderson Nelson, Sr. of 4239 Ramble Road, Virgilina, Virginia died Monday, November 7, 2011 at his home. He was born in South Boston, Virginia March 2, 1932 and was 79 years of age. He was the son of the late Thomas Pool Nelson, Sr. and Alice Chandler Nelson and was married to Betty Rogers Vaughan Nelson. Mr. Nelson was a member of the First Baptist Church, South Boston where he was a former deacon, and church Trustee. He was a member of the Board of Directors for the Chastain Home, past president of the Halifax Country Club, past president of the Chamber of Commerce, a member of the IDA Board and served as the Attorney for the Town of South Boston for many years. Mr. Nelson was a graduate of Wake Forest University and T. C. Williams Law School. He practiced law in Halifax County for 40 years with the firms of Tuck, Dillard, Bagwell, Mapp, and Nelson and Dillard, Nelson, and Dillard.
