Charles Wayne Slayton

Mr. Charles Wayne Slayton of the Providence Community at Nathalie, Virginia passed away on Monday, October 31, 2011 at Halifax Regional Hospital. Wayne was born February 7, 1939, the son of the late Marshall William Slayton and Katherine Moore Slayton in Turbeville, Halifax County. Wayne was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church and has served as a Deacon at Providence and also at First Presbyterian Church in South Boston, VA. Mr. Slayton was a member of the Halifax Masonic Lodge #96 and the Danville Scottish Rite. Wayne was a retired insurance adjuster and a member of the Virginia State Claims Association, the Richmond and Danville Claims Associations, as well as the Virginia Arson of Investigators. Wayne had served in the Virginia Army National Guard as well as the United States Naval Reserve.
