Alvin Dodd Royster

Alvin Dodd Royster of South Boston, VA passed away January 3, 2024 at the age of 84.  He was born in Halifax County on February 9, 1939 to the late Berkley Dodd Royster and the late Alma Collins Royster.  He was married to Mary Ann Gordon Royster who survives.

Alvin was a member of Berry Hill Presbyterian Church where he served as Deacon and an Elder.  He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Alvin retired from the Town of South Boston after many years of dedicated service. He loved mowing grass and hanging out at Calvin Owen’s Garage.  His family always came first, and he dearly loved his grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Berry Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Harvey Spencer officiating.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, one hour prior to the service at Berry Hill Presbyterian Church.
