Ann Moore Bailey of South Boston, VA passed away on May 7, 2026. She was a cherished member of her community and her church, Beth Car Baptist and was known for her warm smile and kindness. Ann was especially remembered for her thoughtful habit of sending cards, a small but meaningful gesture that touched many lives.
She shared a rich and loving life with her husband, Gene Francis Bailey, to whom she was married for fifty-six years. Together they raised two children: Jason Francis Bailey and his wife Celeste of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Jennifer Bailey Grandits and her husband Christopher of Anderson, South Carolina. Her pride and joy extended to her five grandchildren: Caroline, Cole, and Colin Bailey, along with Abigail and Elise Grandits, who brought great happiness to her life. She is also survived by her brother, Tommy Moore and his wife Sandra. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert Moore and Jewel Wilkinson Moore, and her two brothers, Jon and Perry Moore.
A funeral service will be held at Beth Car Baptist Church in Halifax, VA on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Thad Decker officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.
Private interment will be held on Sunday, May 17 in the family cemetery in Rustburg, VA.
