Arlene Lois Foster Gavitt

Arlene Lois Foster Gavitt of Alton passed away on February 5, 2026 at the age of 87. She was born in Gilbersville, NY on September 28, 1938 to the late William Orville Foster and the late Lois Rowe Musson Foster. She was married to the late Kenneth Earl Gavitt.

Arlene attended Dan River Church in Danville, VA. She enjoyed spending time crocheting and was a member of the Dan River Heart-to-Heart Life Group in Danville. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Katherine Tolles of Roxboro, NC, Vicki Marzigliano (David) of Stuart, FL, Kenneth Gavitt (Patty) of Garner, NC, Kerry Gavitt (Sharon) of Alton and Dale Gavitt of The Villages, FL; Seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two brothers, Glenn Foster and Stephen Foster (Jackie). She was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Foster.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
