Aubrey Allen Lewis, Sr.

Aubrey Lewis, 82, passed away on Thursday, August 24th at his home with the love of his life and wife of 62 years, Myrna by his side. Aubrey was commonly referred to as his CB radio handle “Bird Shooter” around the Oak Level Community due to his love for hunting quail and running dogs.

He retired from ABB (formerly Westinghouse) where he worked as a coil winder for over 30 years. Aubrey was a member of Arbor Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and especially enjoyed the fellowship and friendships he made as a lifetime member of the Vernon Hill Hunting Club. He loved working in the garden, riding his tractor, and woodworking. When Aubrey wasn’t outside, he enjoyed sitting in his recliner and watching his favorite programs such as Gunsmoke, Cops, and Tom and Jerry with a big bowl of ice cream. Aubrey loved his family and was a friend to everyone. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Oak Level Fire Department for their exceptional care and compassion. The family also would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to AJ & Barbara Price, Hank & Jennifer Crenshaw, Tammy & Jimmy Doss, Steve & Deborah Donivan, Ann Moser, and Rita McKinney for their kindness and support shown during this difficult time.
