Barbara Joan Seamster Royster

Barbara Joan Seamster Royster of South Boston, VA passed away January 21, 2021.  She was born in Halifax County, VA on July 22, 1943 and was 77 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Frank Easley Seamster and the late Margaret Virginia Stevens Seamster. She was married to the late William S. “Billy” Royster, Jr.

She attended Faith Community Church and was a retired editor and writer.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Oak Ridge Cemetery with the Rev. Dane Skelton officiating. The family would love for friends and family to join them but understand if you are uncomfortable due to COVID. They ask that you do not have any guilt in not attending. In keeping with CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19, the funeral service will be livestreamed via Powell Funeral Home’s Facebook page. We recommend that you wear face masks and practice social distancing.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
