Bernice Crews Powell

Mrs. Bernice Crews Powell of Nathalie, VA passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at her home. She was born in Halifax County, VA on November 30, 1944 and was 81 years old. She was the daughter of the late Jasper Elmer Crews and the late Patty Hailey Crews. She loved her pets and rescuing animals. She was also fond of watching wrestling on television.

Survivors include: One daughter Donna K. Powell of Nathalie One granddaughter Katlyn Duncan of Nathalie One great granddaughter Sophie Lynn Duncan of Nathalie One sister Elizabeth Layne of South Boston She was preceded in death by her former husband, James Earl Powell, One daughter, Tammy Lynn Powell, one son, James Earl Powell Jr., and her brother, John Cecil Crews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
