Bessie Wood Ferrell

Bessie Wood Ferrell of South Boston, VA passed away December 7, 2022.  She was born in Halifax County, VA on September 8, 1920 and was 102 years of age.  She was the daughter of the late Bird Wood and the late Rosa Jackson Wood.  She was married to the late Henry Lee Ferrell.

She was a member of Berry Hill Baptist Church where she was the oldest member and sang in the Senior Choir.  Bessie enjoyed cooking for her family and adored her children.  She will be remembered in love by all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held Monday, December 12, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Nelson Stamps officiating. Burial to follow in Berry Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday, one hour prior to the service at Powell Funeral Home.
