Betty Francisco Conner

Betty Francisco Conner of Scottsburg, Va passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at the home of her daughter and son in law in Hampton, Va.

She was born in Halifax County, Va on May 26, 1938 and was 82 years old.

Betty was the daughter of the late Otis and Rosa Owen.  She was married to Raymond Francisco for 40 years and to Willis Conner for 16 years. Betty was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Ellen Clark Sunday School Class.

Betty was a loving and faithful wife, mother, friend, and servant of her Lord Jesus Christ. She leaves behind this legacy to all who knew her.

Betty Francisco Conner is survived by her husband Willis Conner of South Boston Health and Rehab, her children, Kimberly Newby of South Boston, Karen Yeaman and husband Harry of Hampton, VA, Kevin Francisco and wife Margaret of Enterprise, Alabama; three step-daughters: Teresa Brooks, Dawn Rolfe and husband Raymond of Scottsburg, and Wendy Casen of Clover, VA; six grandchildren: Freddy Newby III (Trey), James Newby, (wife Codi), Harry Yeaman III (wife Adetoun), Clinton Yeaman (wife Allison), Brason Francisco, Benjamin Francisco; five step-grandchildren: Joshua Brooks, Nathan and Rayven Rolfe, Abby and Cody Casen; one great-grandchild: Leon Yeaman, one brother, John Owen and wife Bessie of South Boston, nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her brother, James Davis “JD” Owen, and sister, Ella Owen Fulcher (wife of Bob Fulcher).

Visitation will be on Monday, November 30^th from 5:30-7pm at Powell Funeral Home.  The service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 3:00pm with burial to follow in the Bethel Baptist Church cemetery.  Face masks and social distancing are required.  Dr. Tony Brooks will officiate.  For memorials, consider Bethel Baptist Church, 4198 Bethel Road, Scottsburg, VA 24589.
