Betty Lee Henderson Terry

Betty Lee Henderson Moore Terry, of South Boston, Virginia, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026, at the age of 93. She was born on August 5, 1933, to the late Herbert Edward Henderson and the late Edna Lee Smoot Henderson. Betty was the beloved wife of 48 years to Nathaniel Garrett “Nat” Terry. They dated for six years and were together for a total of 54 blessed years.

She was a devoted member of McCanless United Methodist Church and worked at Halifax Regional Hospital as a TV Hostess. Betty found her greatest joy in caring for her family and spending time with the people she loved. She also enjoyed dining out and sharing good meals and fellowship with family and friends.

Betty will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Nathaniel Garrett “Nat” Terry; her two grandchildren, Beverly Gray Bollinger Baker of Roxboro, NC, and Michael David Moore of South Boston; and her four great-grandchildren, Chase Leo Bollinger, Mazie Grace Bollinger, Allison Gray Moore and Madison Elaine Moore.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her two sons, Cecil Gray Moore and Jerry Wayne Moore; her brother, Carl Henderson; and her sister, Elyle Henderson Cole.

The family wishes to thank Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital and staff, Chippenham Hospital and staff, Clarksville Health and Rehab and staff and especially Carrie Waltman, Shannon Scearce, NP and her staff for their care and compassion shown to Betty during her illness. Nat also wants to thank Lewis Martin, Cathy Short, Anne Cole and her hairdresser, Christie Pool

A graveside service will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery on Saturday, October 3,2026 at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Greg Thomas officiating.
