Bill Fields

Mr. Bill Fields of Chilhowie, VA formerly of Halifax County, VA passed away Friday. June 23, 2023.  He was born March 25, 1950 in Grundy, VA and was 73 years old.  He was the son of the late Floyd H. Looney and the late Linnie Joyce Fields Looney.  Bill was a member of the Chilhowie Church of God and was a retired coal miner and truck driver.  He loved the outdoors especially deer hunting and cat fishing.  Bill was also a self-taught mechanic who loved tinkering with motors.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Graveside services will be held Monday, June 26, 2023 at 2:00 P.M.at the Pleasant Grove Christian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Matt Killmons officiating.

The family will receive friends Sunday, June 25, 2023 from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home.
