Bobby Vaughan, passed away peacefully at his home in Halifax County on December 12, 2023. He was born on May 20, 1942, to the late Robert "Pete" Vaughan and the late Susie Moore Vaughan.
Bobby was a respected figure in his professions, where he served as a supervisor at Georgia Pacific for 35 years. Following his career at Georgia Pacific, Bobby went on to work at Southern States for 15 years. His strong work ethic and commitment to excellence earned him the admiration and respect of his colleagues. Outside of work, Bobby found great joy in being an active member of the McKendree United Methodist Church. He was deeply committed to his faith and cherished the fellowship he found within the congregation. In addition to his religious pursuits, Bobby also held the esteemed position of Master of Halifax Masonic Lodge #96. His involvement in this organization showcased his commitment to community service and philanthropy. Bobby was a simple man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep love for fishing and gardening, which brought him immense happiness throughout his years. Whether he was casting his line or tending to his vibrant garden, Bobby found solace and peace in nature. He was also an animal lover and was known to take in and feed almost any needy pet he could find. His family meant everything to him, and he took great pride in being a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. Bobby's unwavering support and guidance were a constant source of strength for his loved ones. He leaves behind cherished memories that will forever be etched in their hearts.

The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM for the visitation. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Thad Decker officiating. Burial to follow at McKendree United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Bobby Vaughan's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His unwavering faith, strong work ethic, and dedication to his community serve as an inspiration to us all.
