Bonita "Bonnie" Moore Snead

Bonita “Bonnie” Moore Snead of Scottsburg passed away on December 27, 2025 at the age of 81. She was born in Halifax County on September 15, 1944 to the late George Edward Moore and the late Mary Elizabeth McKinney Moore. She was married 38 years to the love of her life, the late Wayne “Heavy” Mitchel Snead.

Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, April Strohm (Jason) of South Boston, and Beverly Seamster (Bobby) of Scottsburg; one grandson, Zack Seamster of Richmond; three great grandchildren, Matthew “Mattie Baby” Seamster, Austin “Beanie” Seamster and Zoe “Baby Girl” Seamster; and one sister, Joyce Foster of South Boston.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Bernice Vaughan, Frank Moore, and James Moore; one nephew, Troy Moore; and brother-in-law, Stuart Snead.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Oakland Cemetery with the Rev. Thad Decker officiating.

The family will receive friends at 702 Maple Ave., South Boston.
