Carye Moorefield Hines

On Saturday, August 14, 2021, Carye Hines, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother passed away at the age of 93.

Carye was born in 1928 to the late Beulah Thaxton and the late John Edward Moorefield. She married at a young age and had five children.

 Carye Hines was a hard worker. She and her husband, Thomas Lee “Fuzzy” Hines owned and operated first the Volens Drive-In and later the Brookneal Golden Skillet. During her healthier years she was often seen briskly walking the roads of Nathalie with her little Yorkshire Terrier “Tina” at her side or in her arms. Shortly after the death of Thomas Lee she moved to assisted living and was well loved by family and staff members of Commonwealth Assisted Living especially the great staff in memory care.

Charles Hines (Ebie) and Mike Hines

Seven Grandchildren

Twelve Great Grandchildren

Three Great Great Grandchildren

Six Step-Great Grandchildren

A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Crystal Hill Southern Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Long officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
