Cecile Moorefield Cheek

Cecile Moorefield Cheek of Shallotte, NC, formerly of Halifax County passed away September 11, 2022. She was born in Halifax County, VA on September 14, 1932 and was 89 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Eugene Jackson Moorefield and the late Irene Ferrell Moorefield. She was married to the late Charlie C. Cheek. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Millstone. Cecile and her husband ran C.C. Cheek’s store for over 40 years. She will be remembered in love by all who knew her. Cecile Moorefield Cheek is survived by: Her Son Christopher C. Cheek and wife Margaret McGuckin Cheek of Cary, NC Grandchildren Morgan Augusta Cheek of Raleigh, NC Carter Nicklaus Cheek of Cary, NC Host of extended family and friends ***Preceded in death by*** Siblings Eugene Moorefield, Walter “Bud” Moorefield, Mildred Kirby, Virginia Brown and Florene Moorefield A graveside service will be held Friday, September 16, 2022 at 12:00 P.M. at Halifax Memorial Gardens with Rev.
