Celus Gregory Harrison, Jr.

Celus Gregory Harrison, Jr. of Halifax, VA passed away February 13, 2023.  He was born in Old Trap, NC on September 19, 1928 and was 94 years of age.  He was the son of the late Celus Gregory, Sr. and the late Nellie Sawyer Harrison.  He was married to Edith Riggs Harrison who survives.

He was of the Methodist faith and attended Oak Level Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Masonic Hall Lodge #53 in Shawboro, NC.  Celus was a lifelong farmer who tended the land with love and dedication.

The family wishes to thank Oak Level Volunteer Fire Department for the service they provided, the doctors and nurses who assisted in his care over the last two years, Sentara Home Health and Sentara Hospice for all their expert services.  Many thanks to his caregivers Linda, Julie, and Kim.  Most of all we wish to thank his family physician, DNP Shannon Scearce, and her staff.  Dr. Scearce always went above and beyond when it came to his care.  Our thanks to one and all.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Oak Level Presbyterian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ron McCracken officiating.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
