Daniel Milton Nichols

Daniel Milton “Dan” Nichols of Winston-Salem, NC and formerly of Halifax, VA passed away April 17, 2023.  He was born in Halifax County, VA to the late Rawley Bryant Nichols and the late Ruth Newbill Nichols on April 29, 1942 and was 80 years of age.  He was married to Rachel Warren Nichols who survives.

He was a member of Dan River Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, and as Sunday School Superintendent.  Dan was a member of the Halifax County Bowling Hall of Fame, a Red Cross volunteer, he loved Wake Forest Demon Deacons sports, and helped with meal deliveries with Meals on Wheels.  He was a proud employee of the United States Postal Service for over 30 years, including serving as Post Master in Halifax.  Dan will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Dan River Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Dennis Knight officiating. Burial to follow in church cemetery.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
