David Carwell Allen

David Carwell Allen of South Boston passed away on August 13, 2026 at the age of 82. He was born in Halifax County on February 23, 1944 to the late Odell Carwell Allen and the late Lillie Bowen Allen. He was married to Glenda Lunsford Allen who survives.

He was a member of Dan River Baptist Church where he was an active teller and served as a former Deacon. David retired from ABB as a Cost Analyst after many years of dedication. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and beekeeping and was a member of the Halifax County Beekeepers Association. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In additional to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Amy Allen Fahey (Timothy) of Apex, NC, and Andria Allen Zawistowski (Jon) of Apex, NC; five grandchildren, Kyle Fahey of Clayton, NC, Brendan Fahey (Sophia) of Wendell, NC, Ethan Fahey of Apex, NC, Camryn Zawistowski of Apex, NC and Hadley Zawistowski of Apex, NC; siblings, Doyle Allen (Sonja) of Forest, VA, Lloyd Allen (Dianna) of South Boston, and Ruth Overby of Virgilina.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, August 16, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. at Dan River Baptist Church with the Rev. John Campbell officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
