Dennis Bailey Allen

Dennis Bailey Allen of Halifax passed away December 7, 2018.  He was born in Halifax County, VA on June 29, 1935 and was 83 years of age. He was the son of the late John Berkley Allen and the late Janie Riddle Allen. He was married to Verona Weatherford Allen who survives.   He was a member of First Baptist Church of Republican Grove.  Dennis was a devoted husband for 58 years and father.  He had a love for music, singing in the church choir and playing bluegrass music with his friends.  Mr. Allen served on the Deacon Board at First Church of Republican Grove.  In Mr. Allen’s free time he enjoyed rabbit hunting, taking care of his beagles and working is his woodshop building bird houses.  Mr. Allen was an employee at Westinghouse (ABB) for 25 years.       Dennis B. Allen and wife Lina of Halifax Four Grandchildren Matthew Dustin Moore Courtney Bowman John Goad Brooke Matthews Four Great Grandchildren Charlii Moore, Haley Bowman, Brianna Lee and Jesse Collins One Brother Eugene Lacy Allen and Gloria of Richmond   A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Republican Grove with the Rev. Zak Ford and Rev. Shelton Miles officiating.
