Mr. Donald Mitchell Bowes of South Boston, VA passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022 at his home. He was born in Halifax County on December 4, 1956 and was 65 years old. He was the son of the late Raymond Banks Bowes and Faye Cliborne Solomon and was married to Mary Redd Bowes. He was employed by Louisiana Pacific. He enjoyed antique shopping, mountain travel, NASCAR, and working on cars. He also loved to hunt and fish in his spare time. Survivors include: His wife Mary Redd Bowes of South Boston His mother Faye Cliborne Solomon of Alton Two daughters Carisa B. Elliott (Dax) of South Boston Tabitha Bowes (Dustin Fox) of Alton One son Nicholas Kyle Bowes of Prairieville, LA One stepson Scooter Hudson (Kristin) of Ponchatoula, LA Two sisters Charlene B. Satterfield (Roger Slagle Jr.) of South Boston Jackie B. Blanks (Ricky) of Alton One brother Phillip E. Bowes (Wendy) of Alton Grandchildren Alexander Elliott and Jaxson Elliott Step-grandchildren Hailey, Anthony, Jasmine, Jordon, and Jace Hudson Nieces Jessica Good and Emily Bowes Nephew Evan Bowes Beloved aunts and uncles He was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Ryan Bowes, his grandmother, Becky Cliborne, and his step-son George Hudson A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Norman Talley officiating. Burial will follow at Halifax Memorial Gardens. The chapel service will be webcasts on Powell Funeral Home's Facebook page. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home for one hour prior to the service and other times at his home.
