Dorothy "Christine" Moore Baker

Dorothy “Christine” Moore Baker, 83, of Halifax, VA passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones on April 13, 2021. She was born in Pitt County, NC on October 13, 1937 to the late Walter David Moore and the late Vennie Bailey “Nolie” Moore. Christine was married to the love of her life, Jesse “Dick” Linwood Baker for 64 years and they would be celebrating their 65^th anniversary on May 27^th.

She was a member of Revelation Baptist Church. Christine retired from BB&T of Centerville and was known for her bright smile and kind heart. She was a friend to all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held Friday, April 16, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Weathersby officiating. Burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. In keeping with CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19, we recommend the wearing of face masks and to practice social distancing. The funeral service for will be livestreamed via Powell Funeral Home’s Facebook page.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M.  at Powell Funeral Home and other times at her home, 1133 Dan River Church Rd., Halifax.
