Dorothy Epps Satterfield Kinder

Dorothy Elizabeth Epps Satterfield Kinder of South Boston passed away on April 14, 2026 at the age of 82. She was born in Halifax County on February 6, 1944 to the late Robert B. Epps and the late Josie Landrum Epps. She was first married to the late William Thomas Satterfield, Sr.

Dorothy was a member of her beloved church, Winns Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching her westerns and game shows and sitting on the front porch watching the birds. Her greatest joy was her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael Wayne Satterfield (Becky) of Virgilina, and Norma Jean Henderson (Stover Owen) of Alton; six grandchildren, James Henderson, Cody Henderson, Angela Satterfield, Josh Satterfield, Corey Satterfield and Anthony Hull; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Connie Gail Womack, Jackie Ingram, Linda Hart and Robert Epps. She was preceded in death by one son, William Thomas Satterfield, Jr.; great grandson, William Thomas Satterfield, III; and one sister, Charlotte Ann Lloyd

A funeral service will be held Friday, April 17, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Winns Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Kopco officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of her daughter, Norma Jean Henderson, 2116 Paradise Rd, Alton.
