Dwayne Edward Collie, born June 5, 1960, in Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on November 2, 2026.
Dwayne will be remembered as an outgoing man whose warmth and energy touched many lives. He built a meaningful career as a nurse at Southern Gastro, Halifax Pharmacy and Halifax Regional Hospital, a profession he truly loved. Nursing was more than a job to Dwayne; it was a calling that reflected his care for others and his generous spirit. He was also a big Miami Dolphins fan, bringing enthusiasm and loyalty to the team he loved. In his community, he made a lasting difference by teaching many local youth how to swim, sharing not only a valuable skill but also confidence and encouragement.
Above all, Dwayne was a family man. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Hudson Collie, and by his sons, Liam Hudson (Hanna) of Richmond, VA and Ethan Collie of Rock Hill, SC; sister, Gail Meador (Randy) of Chesterfield, VA; sister-in-law, Becky Collie of Mechanicsville, VA; host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends; his beloved cat, Sirius.
