Emma Reva Trammell Lewis

 

Emma “Reva” Trammell Lewis of South Boston, VA passed away Saturday, January 13,2024 at Heritage Hall in Brookneal. She was 95 years old at the time of her death. Ms. Lewis was born May 13,1928 in News Ferry, VA. She was the daughter of the late Walter Jenius Trammell and the late Mary Barksdale Trammell and was married to the late Earl Linwood “Byrd” Lewis Jr. She was a member of Arbor Baptist Church where she was a choir member, Sunday School teacher, and participated in the Helping Hands of Arbor Baptist Church ministry. She was also a member of the Oak Level Volunteer Fire Department where she was an EMT.  She was a caregiver to many in the community.

Melinda Satterfield Lewis of South Boston
Ten Grandchildren
Sammy Tate (Cathy), Charlene Hendricks (Dwayne) , Michelle Moore (Charlie), Michael Lewis (Amy), Lindsay Spencer (JR), Brittany Lewis ( Beau), Jeffrey White, Ethan White, Mandy Lewis, and Garland Comer.

Nine Great Grandchildren
Chelsea Wooding (Bill), Dylan Hendricks, Brann Holland, Bryant Holland, Mia Lewis, Aiden Lewis, McKenlee Spencer, Paisley Comer, and Tinley Comer

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Michael Lynn Lewis and L. Wayne Lewis, and siblings Ethel T. Anderson, Jack Trammell, Harry Trammell, and Randolph Trammell.

 

 

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 16,2024 at 2:00 PM at Arbor Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Davis conducting the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and other times at her home.
