Ernest Eugene Martin

Mr. Ernest Eugene Martin of Scottsburg, VA passed away Saturday, December 28, 2019 at the Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital.  He was born in Halifax County, VA on May 8, 1948 and was 71 years old.  He was the son of the late John Thomas Martin and the late Minnie Lacks Martin and married to Joyce Newcomb Martin, who survives.   He was of the Baptist Faith and an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting and teaching others how to hunt and fish.   Mr. Ernest Eugene Martin is survived by: His Wife Joyce Newcomb Martin of Scottsburg Three Daughters Sandra Charlene Martin Williams (Marty) of New Bern, NC Barbara Jean Martin Wickham (Doug) of Christiansburg, VA Amber Michelle Martin Moody (Eugene) of Halifax Three Sisters Pauline Womack of South Boston Gladys Brumfield of    South Boston Catherine Stewart of Scottsburg Nine Grandchildren Five Great Grandchildren Preceded in death by: One daughter, Deborah Ann Martin Hunt   Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.
