Frances Wilborn Bennett

Frances Wilborn Bennett of Colonial Heights, VA passed away December 3, 2018.  She was born in South Boston, VA on June 27, 1922 and was 96 years of age. She was the daughter of the late James Bailey Wilborn and the late Zulene Shanks Wilborn. She was married to the late William Allen Bennett.

She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in South Boston where she served as a deaconess. She graduated from C.H. Friend High School and Mary Baldwin College. She enjoyed a lengthy career as an elementary school teacher and was an avid gardener. She loved her vegetable garden and her roses.

Her Son, William Allen Bennett, Jr.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church, 815 North Main Street, South Boston, VA with the Rev. Susan Davis and Rev. Dr. Bob Ballance officiating. Burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, at 1:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church.
