Frances Moore Landrum

Frances Moore Landrum, a devoted caregiver and cherished member of her community, passed away on May 4, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on June 14, 1932, in Halifax County, to the late Joseph Malcolm “Jack” Moore and the late Alice Farmer Moore.  She was married to the late James Alfred Landrum.

Frances was a member of Liberty United Church of Christ. She retired from Craddock Terry as an Inspector. Upon her retirement, she was a dedicated caregiver. As a caregiver, Frances touched the lives of many, providing compassionate support and unwavering dedication to those in need. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on countless individuals and families, highlighting her profound commitment to helping others. Frances' passion for caregiving was matched only by her love for cooking and gardening, particularly her fondness for growing tomatoes, often sharing the fruits of her labor with friends and neighbors.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sue Hardie Crump of Aylett, VA and Beth Landrum Saxton (Brad) of Nathalie; two grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Farley of Richmond, Sandy Crump Turnage (Ryan) of Hanover, VA; one great grandchild, Jackson Turnage of Hanover; two dear nieces, Mary Frances West of Nathalie and Mary Lou Mills of Nathalie.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Edward Moore, and Mildred Lester and one niece Sheri Lester.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Liberty United Church of Christ with the Rev. Thad Decker officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
