Gabriel Lee Garner, Jr.

Gabriel Lee “Dink” Garner, Jr., 73 of South Boston, VA passed away peacefully on August 24, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Lee was born on June 12, 1949 in Washington D.C. to the late Gabriel Lee Garner, Sr and the late Florence Evelyn Fletcher Garner, the oldest of seven children. He served two years in the United States Marines. Lee loved and enjoyed his career as an auto mechanic but above all he loved his family first. He enjoyed watching football, NASCAR and Tony Stewart was his favorite. Lee found pleasure in putting model cars together and collecting them. Gabriel Lee Garner, Jr. is survived by: His Beloved Wife of 53 years Carol Elizabeth C. Garner of the home His Daughter Vera Lea Garner Granddaughter Alyssa Nicole Good (Zack) Great Granddaughter McKenna Marie Good Sisters Leona Fowler (Peewee) and Annette McGee Brothers Mike Garner (Linda) and Gene Garner ***Preceded in death by*** His Daughter Carolyn Marie Garner Granddaughter Carolyn Marie Keats Brothers Timothy Garner and Donald Garner, Sr. A funeral service will be held Sunday, August 28, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Wilkins officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, one hour prior to the service at Powell Funeral Home.
