Glenn Thomas Moneymaker “Big Money” passed away unexpectedly August 9, 2021 at the age of 52. He was born February 13, 1969. He was the son of Glenn Thomas Francis (Liz) of Altavista and Joan M. Turner “Susie” of Halifax but always referred to his Maternal Grandparents, Clarence “Pop” and Josephine Jones “JoJo” Moneymaker, as his Ma and Pop.
Tom never met a stranger and shared his contagious smile with everyone he saw. Jokes and laughter were a part of knowing him. Besides his business of Small Engine Repair; fishing, grilling and helping others were his passions.
He was previously married to Sharon Humphries Moneymaker Hall for 30 years and has 6 Children. Mary Grace, Emily Jean Vaughan (Jeremy), Erica Josie “Jo”, Eliana Joncie “Ellie”, his sidekick Benjamin Jacob-Thomas “Big Jake”, and his princess MerlGenia LyndiGrace “Genie”. He was preceded in death by his first born child, Mary Grace; His maternal grandparents, Clarence and Josephine Moneymaker; His paternal grandfather, Wade Francis; His uncle, William Tucker Moneymaker; His aunt, Sandra W. Moneymaker Glass; Nephews, William “Billy” and David Lee Moneymaker.
He is survived by his children, his ex-wife, his parents, his half-brother Michael Turner (Brandy), Niece Hailey Turner, half-sister and brother, Carrie and Peter Francis, and paternal grandmother Dottie Francis.
There will be a viewing on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Powell Funeral Home from 12:30 P.M. until 1:30P.M. with a graveside service at 2:00 P.M. at Halifax Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, please donate toward his occurring end of life expenses at Carter Bank and Trust into an account set up for this purpose. S Moneymaker #333326. If there are any funds left over, it will go toward any important outstanding bills Tom has and towards a Memorial Stone. If you would rather not donate toward his family’s expense, then please consider our local Halifax Co. Police dept. and/ or Rescue Squad Division in his memory.
