Gloria "Ann" Schmidt Lewis

Gloria “Ann” Schmidt Lewis of Clover passed away peacefully on September 25, 2026 at the age of 84. She was born in Altavista, VA on September 13, 1942 and was raised by the late Aubrey Lee Schmidt and the late Geraldine Lovelace Schmidt. She was married for 63 years to John W. “Johnny” Lewis who survives.

She was a member of Mt. Laurel United Methodist Church where she served as Sunday School Teacher, Church Historian, choir member, and the hand bell choir. Ann was also a member of the Mt. Laurel Ruritan Club where she helped her community in many ways.

She was a talented artist, enjoyed decorating her home, playing golf, tending to her flowers, and traveling to the mountains and the beach. Her passing will leave a void to all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Steve Lewis and wife Leslie of Nathalie; two grandchildren, Blair L. Powell (Jason) of Clover and Tori Lewis (fiancé, Chris Wilson) of Gladys; one great grandson, Ripley Powell of Clover; one brother, Don Schmidt (Will) of Chesterfield, VA; host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Highsmith and Carlton Highsmith.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Laurel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dave Moreno officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of Steve and Leslie, 7121 Hunting Creek Rd, Nathalie.
