Harold Gene Riddle

Mr. Harold Gene Riddle of Halifax, VA passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Commonwealth Assisted Living in South Boston. He was born in Pittsylvania County on December 11, 1928 and was 92 years old. He was the son of the late Dewey Riddle and the late Mary Pearson Riddle and was married to the late Charlotte Kendrick Riddle. He was an active member of Dan River Baptist Church, the Halifax County Beekeepers Association, and was a retired agent with the Virginia Department of ABC. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a member of the Halifax Sportsman’s Club and Quail Unlimited. After his retirement, he was with the Virginia Department of ABC Speakers Bureau. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Survivors include: His daughter Connie R. Slagle and husband Barry of Halifax Two grandsons Joseph “Joey” Slagle and wife Dani of Cornelius, NC Bryan Slagle and special friend Brittany Ennis of Raleigh, NC One great granddaughter Talley Gene Slagle of Cornelius, NC One sister Claudia R. Breland of Virginia Beach One brother Phillip Riddle of Rustburg He was preceded in death by siblings Betty Jane Hammock and Dallas Riddle A funeral service will he on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Dan River Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Tony Brooks and Rev. Steve Hayes conducting the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service. At other times prior to the service, the family will be at the home of Connie and Barry Slagle.
