Harold Junior Womack

Mr. Harold Junior Womack of Vernon Hill, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at his home. He was born on January 10, 1945, in Halifax County, Virginia, and was 81 years old. He was the son of the late Herman Lee Womack and the late Tassie Nash Womack. He was married to Marguerite Beard Womack, who survives.

Mr. Womack was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam Conflict. He enjoyed attending antique auctions and restoring his finds to their original glory. He also loved farming and spending time with his family. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mr. Womack is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Marguerite Beard Womack of Vernon Hill; two sons, Harold Ryan Womack (Syndi) of Nathalie and Jonathan Lee Womack of Vernon Hill; two grandchildren, Aiden Ryan Womack and Tharin Griffeth, both of Nathalie; and two sisters, Kathleen Perkins of Halifax and Marie Alderson of Vernon Hill.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Elmer, Hugh, Oakley, and Robert Womack.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bill Wilkins officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the services and other times at his home.
