Henry Watson Womack, Jr. of South Boston, VA passed away on August 10, 2026 at the age of 91. He was born in Halifax County, Virginia on February 23, 1935 to the late Henry Watson Womack, Sr. and the late Nannie Elizabeth Owen Womack. He was married to the late Betty Ileana McCane Womack.
Henry was a man who lived by faith. The steadfast love of the Lord Jesus Christ was the foundation his life was built upon. That profound love and God-given joy overflowed into every area of his life.
Henry was a dedicated member of the South Boston Church of God. He proudly served our nation in the United States Army. And he was the successful owner/operator of Womack Wallpapering. Henry was skillful with his hands and enjoyed time spent woodworking, landscaping and gardening. Throughout his years, Henry planted many seeds of faith, just as he planted the seeds in his beautiful vegetable gardens. His love of laughing, sharing God’s Word and spending time outdoors was perhaps matched only by the love he had for his family, whom he treasured dearly. He was an exceptional Dad, Papaw, and Poppy.
He leaves to cherish his memory, daughter, Charlene Halleran (Robert) of Pittsburg; grandchildren, Hillary Hindman (Albert) of Venetia, PA, Lee Hindman (Jamie) of Springdale, PA, and Breanne Frederick (Jon) of Carnegie, PA; five great grandchildren, Marlowe, Delan Ileana, Nora and Hank; siblings, Minnie Womack Gordon, O’Neil Womack, Raymond Womack and Linda Womack Hamlet. He was preceded in death by on great grandchild, Albert Henry; his siblings, Anna Mae Womack Tuck, Howard Womack, Frances Womack Snead Bomar, Mildred Womack, and Christine Womack Bane.
“Therefore you now have sorrow, but I will see you again and your heart with rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.” John 16:22
