Hester Mae Satterfield

Hester Mae Lindsey Satterfield of Vernon Hill, VA passed away June 29, 2021.  She was born in Pittsylvania County on January 29, 1927 and was 94 years of age. She was the daughter of the late John Hester Lindsey and Willie Mae Griffin Lindsey. She was married to the late James Melvin Satterfield, Sr.

She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where she served on the Hostess Committee and the flower committee. Hester retired form Burlington Industries after 30 years of dedicated service. She will be remembered as a devoted Christian, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Wilkins and Rev. Russell Terry officiating.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at her home.
