Jacqueline Jones Toler

On Tuesday, October 18, 2022, Jacqueline Toler (nee: Jones), age 97, died peacefully at her home in Alton, Virginia. Formally a 50+ year resident of Lompoc California and numerous Air Force bases throughout the U.S. and U.S. possessions. Jacqueline was the only child of H. Albert Jones and Beatrice E. Jones (nee: Larsen). Born in Springfield, Ohio, Jacqueline shared residences back and forth between Ohio, where she graduated high school, and southern California growing up, settling in California when her husband Ervin Toler retired from the U.S. Air Force. Jacqueline, known as Jackie to everyone, loved to share her beautiful singing voice in the church choir and participate in church activities where she worshiped over the years as a military spouse. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, serving as a Girl Scouts adult leader, Lompoc valley Girl Scout cookie coordinator, Boy Scouts (Den Mother), and activities in her children’s schools. Her most loved volunteer work was driving for Meals on Wheels and later serving as Treasurer (40+ years) on the board of Lompoc Valley Meals on Wheels. Jackie, was the wife of Ervin Toler for over 74 years, until his death in 2018. Together they raised three children. Their son, Dale Toler died in 2014. Surviving Jackie, two daughters: Nada Green of Alton, Virginia (formally Lompoc, California) and Dawn Hendricks (Thomas Sr.) of Alton, Virginia. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Charles Toler (Cheryl) of Clarksville, Maryland, Thomas Green of Oxnard, California, Hayley Toler of San Diego, California and Thomas Hendricks, Jr. (Laura) of San Diego California; Three great grandchildren: Chase Ann Toler, Maddison Hendricks and Gavin Hendricks. Close surviving relatives include brother-in-law Roger Toler (Debbie) of Dallastown, Pennsylvania and cousin Lara Davis of Dayton, Ohio. A Memorial service will be held at a later time.
