James Ray Hancock

James Ray Hancock of Halifax, VA passed away March 1, 2022. He was born in Rockingham County, NC on April 21, 1947 and was 74 years of age. He was the son of the late George Milton Hancock, Sr. and the late Alma Elizabeth Satterfield Hancock. He was married to Brenda Martin Hancock who survives. He was a member of Olive Branch United Methodist Church. James served in the United States Army and served one tour in Vietnam 1968-1969. He was a member of the American Legion Post 8 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars 8243. He retired from Georgia Pacific after 27 years of dedicated service. Tim Mull officiating. Burial to follow in Olive Branch United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
