Jane Olivia Eastland Edmunds

Mrs. Jane Olivia Eastland Edmunds entered heaven on December 31, 2023. She is the wife of the late Paul C. Edmunds Jr. and is survived by her children Hollis Cannon (Randy Rose), Hank Humphreys, Hogan MacCarty (Bill), and James Edmunds (Jennifer). She also had grandchildren Jane Reagan Cannon (Lynzie), Paul MacCarty (Mary), Paul Edmunds, and Caroline Edmunds. Her two brothers, William Lane Austin Eastland (Jackie) and Tone Sims Garrett (Jean) live in Jackson, Mississippi. She was born in Indianola, Mississippi to the late Jane Wilson Garrett and the late Oliver Eastland.

Mrs. Edmunds was very active in her community.  She was Charter President of Halifax Co. Historical Society, President of Halifax Woman’s Club, President of Banister River Garden Club, and Regent of Berryman Green Chapter of DAR. She was on the committee which wrote An Architectural History of Halifax County, Virginia.  She was a life-long devotee of the arts and owner of historic Riverside which is now on the National Register of Historic Places.  She was a very talented artist and pianist and a devoted and dearly loved mother and grandmother.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 2:00 PM at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Halifax, VA.
