Jean Marion Harris Lightcap

Jean Marion Lightcap of South Boston passed away on October 18, 2026, at the age of 92. She was born in Nottingham, England, on February 11, 1934, to the late Edward Harris and the late Nellie Eaton Harris. She was married to the late Joseph Lightcap.

Jean was of the Catholic faith and dearly loved her family, especially her family in the United Kingdom. She was a wonderful, caring person who was always willing to help others. She enjoyed attending the Nifty Over Fifty group, was a member of the Hatters group, and looked forward to the Baptist senior luncheon on the first Monday of each month.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Pat Thompson of South Boston; her brother, Peter Harris (Carol) of the United Kingdom; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ann Harris, and her brothers, Norman Harris, David Harris, and Phillip Harris.

A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church at a later date.
