Joan Florence Whitt

Joan Florence Whitt of Nathalie, VA passed away January 6, 2021.  She was born in White Plains, NY on August 31, 1941 and was 79 years of age. She was the daughter of the late John B. Whitt, Sr. and the late Florine Pierce Whitt.

She attended Beth Car Baptist Church. Joan was a member in the Virginia Farm Bureau Women’s Committee, Halifax Woman’s Club, Southside Master Gardener Association, Herb Club, Halifax County Historical Society, Berryman Green Chapter of D.A.R., volunteered with Crossing of the Dan and was active member of the Y.M.C.A. and a Sentara Halifax Hospital Volunteer.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Liberty Christian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Eldridge Cullum officiating. The service will be livestreamed via Powell Funeral Home’s Facebook page.
