Joel Shelton Hughes

Mr. Joel Shelton Hughes of Halifax, VA passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021. He was born in Halifax County on January 24, 1942 and was 79 years old. He was the son of the late Robert Leslie Hughes and the late Elsie Louise crenshaw Hughes. He was a member of Winn’s Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include: Two sisters Phyllis H. Powell of Alton Joyce H. Covington and husband Willie of Danville Two brothers Wayne Hughes and wife Fran of Reidsville, NC Donnie Hughes and wife Sandi of Halifax Numerous nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Franklin Hughes and a brother-in-law, Bobby Powell A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Winn’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev.
