John Royce Peak

John Royce Peak, 63, went home to be with the Lord on December 16, 2025. He was preceded in death by his beloved stepfather Jesse Roberts and his nephew Ryan Phelps. He is survived by his wife of 44 years and best friend, Cindy Peak; son Justin Peak (Megan) and daughter Jillian Collier and five grandchildren Elijah, Noah, Jameson, Georgia and Olivia. He is also survived by his mother Faye Roberts, father Lee Royce Peak (Shirley), and sister Jeanna Phelps (Cal), stepbrother Tony Roberts (Meredeth), stepsister Trina Lyles (Bobby) and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him.

John Royce was a man’s man. He was strong. He was a man of integrity. He was an avid outdoorsman. He was a patriot. He was incredibly disciplined and he was an extremely hard worker. He retired in 2019 after 37 years working at Dominion Energy. Of all his many accomplishments, his greatest joy was his relationship with Jesus Christ. He was a faithful and passionate servant of the Lord. His heart’s greatest desire was that each person he came in contact with would come to saving faith in Christ.

Our prayer as a family is that you will read this and decide to give your life to Christ, because time is fleeting and eternity is near. Romans 10:9 says “If you confess with your mouth “Jesus is Lord”....you will be saved”. We invite you to rejoice with us knowing that John Royce, husband, Daddy and Papa is in heaven with his Savior.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with David Dawson officiating. Burial to follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home.
