Mrs. Kathy Lynn Clay Smith of Alton, VA passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born in Granville County, NC on December 20, 1965 and was 53 years old.  She was the daughter of the late Overton Clay and the late Mildred Josephine Jones and was married to Ronnie Allen Smith who survives.  She was of the Baptist Faith and was employed for years at Wabash Magnetics.  She loved her grandchildren and her produce stand and her produce customers.  She had a love/hate relationship with some of her phone app games and soap operas. Smith Jr. and wife Malissa of WyliesburgThree sistersGlenda Newcomb, Debra Conner, and JoAnn Miller, all of South BostonNine grandchildrenDevin, Vincent, Christopher, Katlyn, Kalvin, Jaycere, Donaven, Trevor, and DestaniOne great grandchildNevaehNieces and NephewsCody Clay, Blair Clay, and Bryce ClayShe was preceded in death by her step-father, Bobby Jones, her nephew Alvin Conner, and her brother, Roger Clay A memorial service will held at her home, 7002 Huell Matthews Hwy., Alton, VA on Tuesday, September 24th,at 5:00 PM with Rev. Don Bryant officiating. The family will receive friends at her home on Tuesday from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
