Katie Lee Chappell

Katie Lee Abbott Chappell of Halifax County, VA passed away January 25,2022.  She was born in Halifax County, VA on February 2, 1933 and was 87 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Joel Thomas Abbott and the late Alice Ray Hubbard Abbott. She was married to the late John Phillip Chappell, Jr.

She was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church, where she played the piano for over 50 years.  In her younger years, Katie enjoyed bowling, and traveling with her family.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. at Pleasant Grove Christian Church with the Rev. Carl Burger officiating. Burial to follow in church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
