Leslile Shreve, 68, of Halifax County, Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026.

Born on April 16, 1957, in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, Leslile lived a life rooted in service, education, and deep love for her community and family.

Leslile dedicated many years of her career to Halifax County Public Schools, where she served as a dual enrollment CPR instructor. In this role, she taught and certified countless teachers throughout the area, playing a vital role in promoting health, safety, and preparedness in local schools. She was also instrumental in the development and adoption of the Halifax County physical education program, leaving a lasting impact on generations of students.

A passionate mentor and coach, Leslile devoted much of her time to youth athletics. She coached softball at all levels throughout the community, including Dixie Youth and school programs, shaping not only skilled athletes but confident young women.

Leslile was a proud member of the Halifax County Volunteer Rescue Squad, further reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others in times of need.

Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Leslile found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved trips to the beach, tending to her garden, and preparing meals for those she loved. She also had a deep love for animals and was a supporter of the cocker spaniel rescue program. She had a special place in her heart for her beloved fur babies, Toby, Scout, and Bodie, who brought her constant companionship and happiness.

Left to cherish her memory are one brother, Lee Porter Shreve, Jr. of Newport, NC; special friends and caregivers, Melanie Saunders and Martha Chandler. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Porter Shreve, Sr. and Saxone Kympton Shreve.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Holmes officiating. There will be a reception immediately following the service at Powell Funeral Home.
