Lester Durant Neal

Mr. Lester Durant Neal of South Boston, VA passed away Friday, April 22, 2022 at the Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born April 30, 1927 in Halifax County, VA and was 94 years of age. He was the son of the late Base (B.C.) Neal and the late Delia Townsend Neal and was married to the late Evelyn Rebecca Lowery Neal. He was also preceded in death by his son, Harvey Ray Neal. He was a member of Berry Hill Presbyterian Church and a United States Army Veteran of World War II. Lester retired from the City of South Boston after many years of dedicated service. Mr. Lester Durant Neal is survived by: Nieces and Nephews Pam McKee (Walt) of Houston, TX Don Lowery of Bay City, TX Betty Carol Wilkerson (Don) of South Boston, VA Howard Osborne (Ruby) of Danville, VA Dale Neal of South Boston, VA Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Oak Ridge cemetery with the Rev. Betsy Soto officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 6:30 until 8:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home.
