Margaret Mitchell Epps

Margaret Mitchell Epps of Vernon Hill, VA passed away September 4, 2024 at the age of 94. She was born in Halifax County, VA on December 10, 1929 to the late Garland Robert Mitchell and the late Irene Hamlett Mitchell. She was married for 49 years to the late William Lee Epps.

 She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir. Margaret was a great cook and well known for her biscuits. She dearly loved her community and served it well. Margaret was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, friend and will be greatly missed.

 A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ken Hanson officiating and Rev. Bryant Wilborne assisting. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.

 The family will receive friends Friday evening, from 6:30 until 8:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at the home of David and Debbie Compton, 2220 Asbury Church Rd., Vernon Hill, VA.
