Marshall Briggs Harris

Marshall Briggs Harris of South Boston passed away September 3, 2025 at the age of 82. He was born in Halifax County on May 30, 1943 to the late Samuel Hodnett Harris and the late Alice Wilborn Harris. He was married 32 years to Teresa T. Harris who survives.

Marshall proudly served in the United States Army and retired from the National Guard. Upon retirement he sold cars with Crowell Motor Company. He was also a 51-year member of the American Legion. He loved his dogs and family dearly and will be missed greatly.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Teresa; his children, Marshall Alan Harris (Jolie) of Charleston, SC, Mary-Marshall H. Heckstall (Ned) of Greenville, NC; three stepchildren, Kevin Vernon-Harris (Joe Coraggio) of Chandler, AZ, Jason Vernon of Alton, and Holly Bernard (Bryant) of Danville, VA; three grandchildren, Rawleigh Harris, Samuel Harris and Harris Gray Mattocks; one sister, Margaret Harris Harbin (Charles) of York, SC.
