Mary Louise Stebbins

Mary Louise Stebbins of South Boston passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026. She was born in Halifax County on October 26, 1938 to the late Edwin Augustus Stebbins and the late Elizabeth Spotswood Osborne Stebbins.

Mary Louise was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed automobiles, especially old Mopars, her pets, good food and especially loved her family.

Left to cherish her memory are one sister, Julia Stebbins Carrington of South Boston; a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Edwin Augustus “Ned” Stebbins, Nancy Stebbins Lee and Elizabeth Spotswood Stebbins Creath.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Davis officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
