Mattie Brandon Jordan

Mrs. Mattie Brandon Jordan of South Boston, VA passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023 in Danville, VA.  She was born in Halifax County on July 12, 1925 and was 98 years old.  She was the daughter of the late Lewis Brandon and the late Permelia Gordon Brandon and was married to the late James Sidney Jordan.  She was a member of Alton Baptist Church and was retired from Tultex.  She loved working in her garden, reading, watching NASCAR, and spending time with her family. She was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, and sister and will be truly missed by all.

She was preceded in death by siblings Elwood Brandon, Doris Brooks, Harrell Brandon, and Yvonne Crouch.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Vance Midgett officiating. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Saturday from 1-1:45 PM.
